FAQ

Traditional Bindings (NOT FASE) How do I mount Jones bindings to my board?

Mounting Jones bindings is straightforward, just like any other 4x4 snowboard bindings. If you’re unsure, check your owner’s manual or watch this detailed video guide.

Important Tips:

  • When your binding bushings are new, they are uncompressed, making the bindings float slightly above the topsheet. This is a key part of Skate Tech, which delivers plush feel and excellent shock absorption.
  • Mounting Method:
    1. Start by inserting one or two screws without washers.
    2. Be careful not to screw deeper than the bottom of the insert.
    3. Preload the bushings slightly—this helps the discs engage with the inserts and “suck down” onto the board.
    4. Once engaged, add in the remaining 2 screws with washers, then remove the screws without washers, and reinstall all screws with washers.
  • Once the bushings wear in, mounting and securing the discs becomes much easier. If you remove bindings for an extended period and the bushings rebound, repeat the same method.

Binding Screw Length:

  • Jones bindings come with M6x10mm screws, compatible with industry-standard inserts.

Tips & Safety

Leash safety check: A snowboard leash is designed to keep your board attached to your boot should you need to take off your board mid-slope. Without the leash, it can be tricky to step out of your board and hold on to it. Use the leash to avoid losing your board in deep powder or dropping it off a cliff! Leashes are mandatory at some resorts.

Clear snow before riding: If snow accumulates, make sure to remove snow from your binding before getting in.

Fold highback on lifts: Always fold your highback on lifts and during storage to prevent damage and extend durability.

Hardware safety check: Vibration, temperature changes and board flex can loosen mounting screws and other hardware. Ensure all screws are tight before every riding session, and check buckles and components are in working order.
